LOCAL RULES –
Callippe Golf Course Revised January 17, 2012
1. NCGA rules of golf will
govern play.
2. EMBEDDED BALL. Is in effect
anywhere through the green. A ball which is embedded in its own pitch mark in
ground, other than sand, may be lifted without penalty, cleaned, & dropped as
near as possible to where it lay & must come to rest no nearer to the hole.

GROUND UNDER REPAIR. Designated by WHITE LINES encircling the area. Lines
defining ground under repair are in such ground. R-25-1
3. ALL BOUNDARY fences are 0B.
4. Relief allowed from the
following immovable obstruction. R-24-2
a. SPRINKLER
BOXES.
b. FRENCH
DRAINS.
c. STAKED TREES. If such a tree
interferes with a player's stance or the area of his intended swing, the ball
must be lifted, without penalty, & dropped in accordance with the procedure
prescribed in R-24-2b.
d. Bridges are immoveable objects, except
when the ball lies in or touches a environmental hazard or lateral water hazard.
Relief is allowed if the obstruction interferes with swing, stance or lie. Take
it to the nearest point of relief then drop within one club length (no penalty).
If a ball lies in or touches environmental hazard there is no relief without
penalty.
5. WATER HAZARD & LATERAL WATER HAZARDS:
Water hazards are designated by yellow stakes &/or ground lines. Lateral water
hazards are designated by red stakes &/or ground lines. Green tops on stakes
designate environmental hazards. ALL LAKES are played as LATERAL WATER HAZARDS.

Provisional Ball (Water Hazard): To avoid delay, USGA Local Rule 2b permits play of
a provisional ball from the spot where the original ball was played. One stroke
penalty.
6. LOST BALL: Play a ball
from a spot as nearly as possible to where original ball was last played. One
stroke penalty. R-27-1

Doubtful of procedures:
R-3-3, if no official is available, play two (2) balls, original and second
ball; announce your intention to your marker before either original or second
ball is put into play, your decision to proceed under this rule & which ball you
will score with if the rule permits. Notify the COMMITTEE immediately after the
completion of the round.
8.
TREE WELL/BASIN: A ball
must be dropped nearest point of relief 1 club length no closer to hole. No

9.
ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARD: A
fair ball that requires you to stand in hazard must be dropped within 2 club
lengths no closer to hole. No Penalty. Local Rule
10.
Ball lying in aeration hole
may be placed within 6" no closer to hole. No Penalty

12.
DROP AREAS: The Callippe Sr. Golf Club
does not recognize the designated drop areas on holes 9, 10, 12, 15 and 18
during tournament play. Any ball hit into the hazards must be played in
accordance with the USGA rules from the point of entry into the hazard.

13.
BLUE FLAG: "Spirit of the
Game", all players requesting a Blue Flag for existing medical conditions must
drive the golf cart (exceptions may exist to maintain pace of play). If a cart
partner does not have an existing medical condition, they must conform to normal
playing conditions within restricted areas. The intent of the Blue Flag is to
assist those players who are physically challenged. This privilege isn't
extended to the passenger as it could create an advantage over fellow
